DIY: Valantine's flower pin

Valentine's day is almost there so I was searching for a special present for my boyfriend.

Did you already see the men's lapel flowers that add something special to men jackets?
At last summer edition of Pitti Uomo (fashion fair @ Florence) you spotted them a lot:

I decided to make it myself as a little extra gift on Valentine's day.

You need:
* a strip of fabric (I prefer flowers not to big)
* needle and thread
* scissors
* 2 buttons (one for the front inside the flower and one for the back)

Cut a strip of fabric, fold over one end and secure it with a stitch.
Flip it over and start a running stitch along the bottom of the strip of fabric.

When you've reached the end of your strip, pull the thread so the fabric bunches up.

Shape the fabric into a flower, secure all the layers by stitching through each and secure it on the back.
Cut the flower in the shape like you want it to be.

Next, stitch the button in the center.  After the button is secure, stitch on your button at the back to attach the flower on a jacket (you can also use a safety pin for the back.

Selfmade Valentine's flower pin as extra present.
